RECOGNIZING THE ROLE OF A FLOOR COVERING IN THE BIGGER PICTURE

Is a floor covering the main character in a room or a supporting character? This is one of the questions our designers ponder as they embark on a new project. For them every carpet is a work of art on the floor but they always remain aware of their client’s bigger picture. In the two photos above, we see a sixty-foot-long runner that changes hue from dusty blush to burnt orange and was designed to be a focal point of its Toronto home. The photos below show a handloomed rug in a ribbed textural design for Bar Pendry at the Pendry Manhattan West that help keep the space feeling cozy but doesn’t steal the show from what is happening on the walls and ceiling.

How we come to this understanding

  • we ask the right questions

  • we speak the same language as the interiors professionals we work with

  • we have an acute sensitivity to what clients are looking for

  • we understand which colour palettes will subdue or enliven the design

  • we typically submit several designs to clients so they can hone in on the vision that fits the best

  • we have 35 years of experience
