While floor coverings are usually an ensemble player in a new commercial project, they can often take the lead when it comes to reinvigorating an established building. Such was the case of 1075 West Georgia, one of Vancouver's most prominent office addresses and a contributor to the skyline for nearly 50 years.
We were delighted this year when the interior designer charged with developing a fresh presence for the public spaces chose the more striking of the designs we presented. Rectangular gems in tangerine, coral, lilac, turquoise, rose and lime emblazon black and slate geometry, recomposing this modernist space. Arthur Erickson (Canadian and global architect 1924 - 2009) would be proud.
