WHY WOVEN AXMINSTER CARPET?

Not only is this Creative Matters carpet for the foyer at Four Seasons Resort Whistler a stunning design, it is also made in the woven Axminster method of construction that will ensure the carpet stays looking this good for many years to come. Many carpets use both pile and backing that provide acceptable durability but it’s the weaving element of construction that sets Axminster apart. On Axminster machines, every tuft of yarn is woven securely with the backing yarn a single operation creating a strong three-dimensional structure. Over the years, we have perfected with our mills both process and design to meet our high standards. We use custom colours strategically, executing beautiful tonal shifts and transitions to achieve elevated designs in a range of projects.

Advantages of Our Woven Axminster

  • standard 80% wool /20% nylon with option to add Shiny Nylon to create beautiful lustre

  • a sustainable option using 100% wool with a biodegradable jute backing

  • for increased texture options, we combine handtufted construction with woven Axminster construction

  • ability to manufacture a consistent colour palette across varied weight consistencies when combined in a project (e.g. lighter weight for suites and heavier weight for corridors)

  • up to a 5 metre roll width available

  • samples are made on production loom

  • designs are not limited to repeats and can be customized per roll

  • exciting barber-poling technique to soften colour transitions
